An honest portrait
ONLINE COURSE
In this photography course, I am sharing my philosophy on how to create portraits of people that go beyond capturing a nice smile. To me, a portrait is not just an image of someones face. It is an opportunity to learn something about the person I am photographing. Who is that person? What moves them behind their everyday facade? Finding answers and enjoying the process is what I love about portrait photography. Creating a space that feels safe to be open and playful in, is vital but how do I do that? How do I involve the one in front of my camera into the session? How do I interact and communicate with them?
These questions and many more details will come up in the course. I will be taking you to two portrait sessions with me and share with you what I am doing in a portrait session and why. We will explore how to apply this approach to a corporate photo session and we will see and talk about some other photographers work to get a wider perspective of what a portrait can be.
There are a lot of dynamics to explore in portrait photography and I welcome you to join me on the journey.

How the light behaves
ONLINE COURSE
In this on location course, I want to help you to sharpen your awareness to the natural light and all the nuances it offers you to play with in your photography. For everyone shooting film, this skill is vital but I personally believe in always getting things right while taking photos instead of trying to fix my mistakes afterwards, no matter what camera I use. So I want to take you on a journey from daytime to the night where we will be covering a variety of light situations such as open shade, reflected light, direct sun and the shadows it throws as well as directed light indoors.
These are just some bullet points but you will see that within these light situations there are so many nuances that can separate a good image from a great one if you know how to find the sweet spot and play with it. Painting with the light, also always means to be playing with composition and that will play a role in our journey. I want to make sure that you gain an understanding for how the light behaves so that you can apply your learnings in any situation you might find yourself in with your camera. In this course, I will be taking portraits but no matter if you photograph documentary, architecture or street, this course will help you grow as a photographer.

Photography from the heart
ONLINE COURSE
Hi, I am Ken. I have been on a journey as a photographer for many years, doing my own projects as well as work for clients. In this time, I went through different phases, working with different cameras on different topics. Camerawork helped me grow as a person and with that, I became clearer about where I desire to go with my photography. I feel the wish to share some of what I learned and inspire you so you can find the next step in your journey as a photographer.
In this workshop, we will start from the ground of and find that there are mainly only three important settings on your camera to take care of. So if you are a beginner, this workshop can be a good start for you. But also if you have photographed for some time already, this is an opportunity to slow down and learn to focus on what you really need and what might just be distracting you. I want to help you sharpen the awareness of what you are doing and enable you to go deeper. Discover ways to move forward in your photography and give it your own handwriting. Your photography can only be special if you are able to put your heart into what you do.
We will look at light and its different qualities, situations involving people, and how to approach them. I will show you different camera types, and lenses. We will discuss composition, presentation, image selection, editing and much more.
Becoming a better photographer doesn’t happen overnight or after watching this workshop. I can explain you things and inspire you but in the end, what matters is that you go out there and take pictures. When you have finished the workshop, you are welcome to send me your results and get some personal feedback on them. It’s gonna be fun, let’s go!
